Imphal, January 18 2023: An orientation programme on the topic ‘Export Potential of Agri-products and Documentation for FPCs’ was held today at the Farmers’ Convention Centre of the Green Foundation, Kwakeithel Awang Thiyam Leikai.

The programme was jointly organised by the Green Foundation and IndoMyanmar Border Trade Union (IMBTU).

The Green Foundation president Kh Rajendra; Officer on Special Duty, Export Import, Govt of Manipur, A Samananda; Project Officer MOVCDNER-Agri, Kh Nimai Chand and IMBTU president W Nabachandra graced the programme as the presidium members.

Delivering the keynote address, the Green Foundation CEO U Himmat said that farmers in the State suffer huge loss if their products are not sold at the appropriate time.

Therefore he stressed on the need of plantation of crops by the farmers depending on the nature of the availability of markets to sell their produce.

Apart from the market places in the State, it is high time to explore marketing places beyond the State and abroad as well, he added.

He went on to state that the youths need to play a major role in marketing of farmers’ produce by acquiring adequate knowledge on import and export.

With the aim of increasing the income of farmers in the State by providing proper marketing platforms, today’s programme has been organised, he said.
